The Big Snow

Our house with all the snow we got while we were gone over Christmas. Notice the waist high pile of snow that the snowplow left at the end of the driveway.
Gus enjoying all the snow in the driveway!
The path I made so Melissa and Gus could get to the house. Just under a foot deep at its LOWEST point!
All done!!! Only took 3 hours, but I did do the patio as well.
I did it all by shovel.... Just kidding, good thing for snowblowers.

Video of Gus' first big excursion outside!

Welcome Gus!

This is Gus!
He is a Yorkie-Poo and is the sweetest thing ever.
He is about 8 weeks old.

Gus had never been outside until we took him home. So he learned a lot of new things today. When we first took him outside he was a little scared and unsure, but soon he was jumping and running all over the place in the grass! It is too bad it is going to get cold and snowy soon.

These are Gus' parents. His mom his a purebred poodle (on the left). Her name is Misty. His dad is a Yorkshire Terrier (on the right). His name is Spike. We picked up Gus today south of Glencoe (about a 1/2 hour from Hutch).

This is Gus giving his mom a goodbye kiss! She looks kinda sad, doesn't she? You can see some of his siblings there too (he has 1 more brother and 2 sisters in his litter).

He sure had a busy day and has been taking lots of naps today. Here he was cuddled up with me this evening!

He has also had lots of playtime. I think this scene will be happening a lot in our house!

The Last Twins Game at the Dome!!! Or is it???

Picture of us at the game. We were 2 of 51,155 people to attend what was supposed to be the final regular season game at the Metrodome. As it turns out, the Twins wanted to play one more game. Game 163 will be a tie-breaker game vs. the Tigers for the AL Central title. Go Twins!!!

Before the game, the players from both the Twins and Royals were recognized.

The Twins take the field (click play above)

Soon to be AL MVP and AL Batting Champ, Joe Mauer at the plate. He went 0-3, but I doubt he could even see the ball with all the camera flashes that went off during every pitch thrown to him.

The Twins celebrate a 13-4 win!

After the game, there was a Farewell to the Metrodome ceremony. The All-Metrodome team was honored and there was at least one member from every Twins team (1982-2009) that played in the Metrodome represented.

What a CUTIE!!!

We went to Fargo this weekend and got to spend some time with the Lees. Gavin has grown soooo much (we hadn't seen him since the 4th of July). He is keeping his mom and dad very busy as he is crawling all over the place and is now pulling himself up on furniture!

Proud Grandma Lee giving Gavin his bottle... and he is out! He looks pretty comfy.

Gavin and Auntie!

Gavin likes hanging out in his jumper. It has so much to do!

Gavin sure likes his mommy!

This is my favorite picture of him from this weekend. Apparently he just started this squinting thing and here is showing off his 2 new teeth pretty well!

School has started!!!

Hey! Well, here we go again! It was my first day of school today- can't believe this is already my 4th year teaching! Jeff didn't take a picture of me today on my first day of school. : ( I had a really good day and enjoyed getting to know my new students. I have a few of the same kids I had as 7th graders last year, but now they are 8th graders. It will be a busy week. I also start my Masters program tomorrow. I will have class every Wednesday (from 4:30-9:30) and then one Saturday a month. Yikes!

Jeff has been crazy busy at work already. They didn't wait long to dump a pile of work on him! We are both happy and relieved that he is working full time again and also feel very blessed that he doesn't have to be on the road for hours everyday getting to and from work.

We are looking forward to mom and dad coming down to Hutch this weekend. We are gonna be having a rummage sale in our garage with lots of good stuff looking for a new home!

State Fair!!!

Jeff and I went to the State Fair today. It was kind of chilly today. Of course, since it was a Saturday there were A LOT of people there. We can't pass up a chance to go and eat whatever we can find "on a stick." We have to get a bucket of cookies at Sweet Martha's every year, but this line (or shall I say mass of people) was ridiculous. I ended up finding a way to sneak to the back and get in a shorter line. Overall, it took us a little over 1/2 hour to get our cookies.

Jeff tried bacon on a stick- something new to the State Fair this year.

Another one of my favorites at the State Fair is a corn cob dipped in a big vat of butter. Yummy!!!

On our way home we stopped at the Sculpture Garden in Minneapolis- gotta love the cherry and the spoon!

Tour of southwestern MN

Jeff and I went on a camping trip the end of July. Earlier in the summer I had decided that we should go see Pipestone National Park.

I didn't realize that there were waterfalls in southwestern MN.
We stopped in Redwood Falls and went to the park to check out "Redwood Falls."

We also stopped in Walnut Grove and learned all about Laura Ingalls Wilder. (Jeff and I had lots of time to watch Little House on the Prairie this summer). Here is the fireplace from the show.

Here we are at the waterfall in Pipestone National Park. (This is where the Indians would get the red stone to make their peacepipes.)

We had a great time camping at Lake Shetek State Park, biking and hanging out!

Paul and Brieann's wedding

Jeff and I smiling away.

The beautiful bride and groom along with some of their wedding party!

On Sunday after the wedding we all went to the Twins game!

Rudebusch Family

This picture is from last summer. I will update this with some pictures taken this year when I get a chance.

Lee Family

Dad turned 60 years old on July 9 and we had a surprise birthday for him over the 4th of July weekend!

Here we go! Let's give it a try!

Hello! I am taking a Technology class here at school and we are learning all about Web 2.0 stuff! Jeff and I really enjoy getting updates about Gavin and family by using their blog! Even though we don't have kids or a dog there may be a few things you might find interesting about our lives.
