Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

This video was taken right before Christmas... but I didn't get it to upload until now.

SNOW DAY!

Gus really likes the snow!

King of the hill!

This was taken right when I got home this afternoon- we will see how much we get tonight. I wonder how the Vikings game will go tonight- outdoors at TCF Stadium.

School was closed at 11:05 today due to MORE SNOW! I can't believe how much we have already had this December. It has been nuts! We are supposed to get another 5-7 inches tonight with more on the way on Thursday. Ridiculous!

Mary- this post is dedicated to you and Greg in Thailand! I'm sure you miss the MN winters! Also, I wanted you to recall the days of early outs/late starts due to snow! These days really throw off my lesson plans- but who cares about that, right!? : )

I'll try to post a video of the snow falling too!

Thanksgiving 2010!

We have so much to be thankful for: each other, a wonderful family, great friends, a spunky and cuddly dog, a comfy house, and good jobs.
God is good, all the time!
We had a wonderful dinner with the Lee Family on Thursday. As always, too much food! We spent time hanging out with family and went and saw the Erdmann family, too. Mike and Susan were in the cities for Thanksgiving weekend, but we met them in Detroit Lakes on Sunday for lunch!

Gavin chowing down on some lefse with Auntie Missy
Gus and I on a fine winter day (well, actually it was REALLY cold... and there was a lot of snow up in Ross already).

Gavin seemed to really enjoy lefse. This was at least his 3rd piece with the Lee's (not sure how much he had elsewhere!).
He wanted more butter and sugar on his lefse. He even decided that he would put his own sugar on his piece... he didn't need Grandpa's help.

Meet the Irresistible Mrs. Sorteberg! This was the headline on the Roseau Times Region front page over Thanksgiving weekend! Pretty cool! We were able to go in and visit Grandma Sorteberg a few times over the long weekend! What a great lady!

Twins vs Rangers

Jeff's mom and dad came down to stay with us over Labor Day weekend. We had a nice weekend with them. We decided to check on stubhub to see if we could get some tix for the Twins game. Well, we could, but the seats were way up there! After the game we walked down to the seats next to the field so they could see what it looked like from down there too!
Go Twins (Jeff was even able to supply his mom and dad with one of his jerseys!)

We love our Twinkies!

Yes, we were pretty high, but there is really no bad seat at the park.

The Deck is Finished!

The Before pic
The After Pic! It was A LOT of work, but we got the deck stained. We are happy with it. I hope we can enjoy some nice fall days out there before the snow starts flying! : ) Gus likes to go out the back door now (you can see his leash on the stairs)!

Our Trip to Seattle! Day 1

We flew in to Seattle LATE Wednesday night. Steph and Andrew picked us up and brought us to their house. It was so nice to see them and stay with them.
Thursday morning we hiked in Mt. Rainier park. The major hike we did was quite an uphill climb, but very fun!

Here was the first set of falls we saw.

One big tree!

This was what we hiked up to see... "Comet Falls" It was beautiful and huge.

This is the view that we usually had of Mt. Rainier with the clouds all around/over it.

Finally, the clouds cleared and we could see the top. This was taken at a place called Paradise. See me at the bottom of the pic.

Our Trip to Seattle! Day 2!

What a busy day! For breakfast we went to "Legendary Donuts" and boy were they yummy! I'm not sure that you can tell from the pic, but Jeff's donut had bacon on it. Yes, bacon!
Melissa on the top of the Space Needle! Cool view!

Jeff at the bottom of the Space Needle! Cool view!

For lunch we went to the Crab Pot. All I can say is "WOW!" We were each given a bib, a wooden hammer and a small fork to eat our sea food. Jeff is ready.

I'm ready too!

Mmmmm.... lunch (the lighting was weird)

All done! Our favorite was the crab legs.

I loved all the flowers at Pike Place market (they were all so reasonable and beautiful).

Here is the famous market in the city- Pike Place Market. They throw fish in the air as people order them and there are all kinds of things to buy (produce, flowers, crafts, etc.)

The Twins played the Mariners at Safeco Field on Friday night and we were excited to attend. By the way, it was Ichiro bobble head night.

Jeff and I supporting our Twins!

We had amazing seats (5 rows up). Denard Span at the plate.

Joe Mauer after a single.

Michael Cuddyer takes a swing.

Scott Baker was the pitcher.

Delmon Young in left field. The Twins won 6-3! We had a great time!
