Nursery Stuff!

We received our nursery decor in the mail this week! It was so fun to get! I just love all the bright colors! Of course, we don't have everything for the nursery, but we have a good start!  Jeff and I found the two pieces of artwork (of monkeys and giraffes) at the craft show this weekend here in Hutch.  They will be perfect!

Here is Gus posing with the nursery stuff!  (I'm sure he really enjoyed the times when the delivery guy dropped off stuff at the door while we were at work!)
Here is the quilt I made for Baby!  I made most of it this summer, but just finished hand-sewing the binding last night.  The colors actually go really well with the nursery things we bought and I didn't even plan it that way!  There are even monkeys and bananas on it!  : )

Time is flying by...

We did some shopping last week.  We ordered stuff for the nursery and the crib and mattress arrived today!  It will stay in the box for awhile as we have some work to do before we are ready to put the nursery together.  (I know, the boxes are really fun to look at- don't ya think??!)

Here I am at about 23 1/2 weeks (We are in the 5th month... that means we are getting a lot closer to the 3rd trimester).

The side view...

Here I am way back on May 18th... we just found out we were pregnant. The comparison pictures definitely show a growing baby!

Baby has been moving a lot.  It has been SO FUN to feel Baby as it gets bigger.  Thank goodness the weather cooled off this week.  The 90+ degree weather made it pretty unbearable at school.

Baby Rudebusch Due to Arrive in January!

Here is the first post on our blog about BABY RUDEBUSCH.  I have now officially announced our news at school, plus it is starting to get a little more obvious.  We are so excited to announce that we are expecting Baby Rudebusch in January.  The due date is January 7, 2012.  I am now almost at 22 weeks (over halfway through the pregnancy)!  We are absolutely thrilled and are anxiously awaiting Baby's arrival!  I know time will fly.

These pictures were taken on Wednesday (August 31).
Can you see the baby bump!?  It is there!
Mama LOVES baby!

I have been wearing my regular clothes so far. Well, up until now... I wore my first maternity shirt on Thursday to work and then a maternity dress to Back to School Night at school last night.  Most of my pants are getting a little tight, so I'm sure I'll be making that switch sooner than later.  Especially now that baby is gonna GROW, GROW, GROW!

Baby has been really active in the evenings!  Usually just a few minutes after I lay down to go to bed Baby really starts moving.  The little kicks are adorable.  We can even feel the baby moving on the outside of my belly!

We had our ultrasound today.  The ultrasound tech said that Baby was the most cooperative baby she had all day!  (Let's hope Baby is always so good natured!)   Baby moved its limbs a lot, but otherwise he or she stayed in one position for the most part.

Here are some pictures from the Ultrasound today (Sept. 2).  They are labeled, so hopefully you can tell what you are looking at!  According to the measurements taken today, Baby is measuring at 1 lb. 2 oz.  We did not find out the gender of Baby, so you will all have to wait a while! Don't worry, it will be worth the wait!

So, that is what has been kicking me! : ) Do you see all the toes!!

Baby has his or her arms up over it's head.  You can see the nose and mouth between the two arms!

It is absolutely amazing to see the vertebra all lined up to make the spine.  What an incredible miracle!
Here is Baby's face.  Baby was kinda nestled up next to me (using mama as a pillow), so the edge of it's face is kind of blurry.  You may have to tilt your head to the side to view. (top of Baby's head is on the left of the pic and it's chin is on the right).

Of course, we need to mention that it is Gus' 2nd Birthday today!
Happy Birthday Gus!  We bought him a new monkey!  He also got a Vikings collar last week.

The Great Minnesota Get Together- 2011

We had a great time at the State Fair yesterday!  The weather was absolutely perfect and the food was awesome (of course!)  It wasn't even too terribly crowded- or maybe we just know what we are getting ourselves into when we go there!
Here is the state's largest boar- His name was Husky Lee.  He is a big guy.  We also saw many adorable new babies at CHS's Miracle of Birth Center.
Something new we tried this year- Deep fried apple pie with cinnamon ice cream.  Yummy!
We also went on the Skyway across the fair.  It was a nice view of the fair, plus we got to sit for 15 minutes! : )
Of course, a trip to the State Fair would not be complete without a bucket of Sweet Martha's cookies and milk from the dairy stand.  We also enjoyed some yummy turkey and sweet corn.

Summer must really be drawing to a close now that the State Fair is here.  I am back to work starting tomorrow.  I'm looking forward to seeing all of my co-workers again.  The kids have open house on Thursday so it will be fun to meet my new students too (although there will be many I already know)!

5 years- Can you believe it!?!

Jeff and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend as we celebrated our 5 year anniversary.  Our actual anniversary is on August 12, but why not celebrate a little early!

August 12, 2006

First stop- Mystic Lake Casino
We got there around 5 and ate at the buffet.  Then we played some games... yes, I won a whopping $4.55!  I had lots of fun playing Deal or No Deal!  We won't talk about Jeff's luck!
The reason we went to Mystic Lake- The Xtreme Muzik Concert with Big and Rich and Gretchen Wilson.  They played at the new outdoor ampitheater.
It was a beautiful evening and the concert was very entertaining!  We stayed at the Park Plaza in Bloomington on Friday night.

Saturday morning we drove to beautiful Stillwater.  We stayed at the Water Street Inn right next to the St. Croix river.  We had a beautiful 2 room suite in a very historic building (from the 1890s).
We enjoyed a great view of the lift bridge from our private balcony.
Ahhh, relaxing!
Going up!

Lots of boats out on the river.

We enjoyed a Trolley Tour Saturday evening.  We were able to hear more about the city's interesting history and saw so many beautiful mansions.
A great view of the river valley from way up high!
We spent time on Saturday walking around the shops downtown and of course eating lots of great food! : )
We walked up (and down) 157 stairs to get the view of downtown and the river.  (Stillwater has 3 big staircases to get from the top of the hills to the main street and river.)

Happy Anniversary Jeff!

The Sheetrock is ALL UP!

Jeff and I finished up the sheetrock on the last wall yesterday!  It went pretty well.  Now we just need to get it mudded and taped.  Then, I need to decide on paint color.  Oh boy!
Jeff peeking through the area where our fireplace will go!
This is it! All done!!!  Jeff cut out a lot of holes for the outlets/speaker system!  Just think one day we can hang out downstairs with the fireplace glowing (well, not when it is 95 degress like it is today!) while we watch a great movie on the big TV with surround sound.  I'm a pretty lucky gal!
Cleaning up more dust! : )
Jeff placed the fireplace in space it belongs.  Everything is coming together!!  Time for the built-ins!!  I'm so excited that we are getting closer and closer to having it "finished!"

Orin and Carolyn are great hosts every year for the Lee family get together.
 Some "man" talk.
